Drug Testing

We are frequently asked about the services of the drug lab that we use, Redwood Toxicology Laboratory (RTL), for our urine panels.

They are professional toxicologists who perform screening and confirmation with state-of-the-art technology and equipment.  Results are typically reported in 24 hours’ for negatives, 48-72 hours for positives.  All presumptive positive results go through a confirmation process to ensure accurate results.

RTL screens urine specimens by enzyme immunoassay (EIA).  An immunoassay is a test that uses antibodies to detect the presence of drugs and other substances in urine.  The initial screening process does not measure the specific amount of drug present in urine samples.  It provides either a positive or negative result, indicating the presence or absence of detectable drug.

Screening and confirmation testing are performed using different methodologies that require separate cut-off levels.  The immunoassay tests used to perform initial drug screens are designed to detect a wide range of chemically similar compounds that react with antibodies which are at the core of the chemistry making up the tests.

The panel we use tests for ten different drugs:  Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Cocaine, Methadone, Opiates, PCP, Propoxyphene, and Marijuana.

Five Panel Drug Screen Tests can detect Amphetamines, Cocaine, Benzodiazepines, Opiates, and Marijuana in urine.

Six Panel Screen Tests can detect Marijuana, Cocaine, Benzodiazepines, Opiates, Methamphetamine, and Amphetamine in urine.

Ten Panel Drug Screen Tests can detect several illegal drugs as well as high levels of prescription drugs.  Drugs tested for are Cocaine, Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Tetrahydrocannabinol, Methadone, Opiates, Phencyclidine, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, and Oxycodone in urine.

Spice/K2 Tests are capable of detecting JWM-018 and JWH-073 metaolites through urine testing.  This test can also be combined with a Ten Panel Drug Screen.

We have the following Home Drug Tests available:
